This app is an audio and video surveillance solution for your mobile devices(iOS & Android). This app enables you to turn camera-enabled computers working on Winodows into network cameras. It allows you to remotely monitor multiple live audio and video feeds from your mobile devices over Wi-Fi and cellular networks.

System Requirements

In order to use our version, you will need:

  • Phone, Tablet with Android 3.0 or later (Buy uMobileCam on Google Play)

  • iPhone, iPod touch, iPad with iOS 6.0 or later (Buy uMobileCam on the iTunes Store)

  • Internet connection (through Wi-Fi or 3G/4G) on mobile device and computer and network camera
  • To make sure that your webcam and microphone are enabled on your computer
  • To setup your Cloud account if you want to save your images by referring to iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox

Getting Started

Step 1: Do the settings after install uMobileCam Camera on your computer

  • Select “Settings” button atthe upper right tab
  • Do the settings by filling out the required fields
  • - Device name: Enter the name you want to assign to your Mac device

    - User ID: Enter the user ID of your device as you want (case sensitive, 6~24 char size)

    - Key: Enter the Key of your device as you want (case sensitive, 6~24 char size)

    - Password: Enter the password of your device as you want (case sensitive, 6~24 char size)

  • Do the optional settings as follows:
  • - Cloud type: select one of iCloud, Google, Dropbox or None(default local folder)

    - Motion &audio detect: enable motion & audio detection capability

    - Notification: push notification to the monitor device when the event is detected

    - Schedule: snapshots at regular intervals are taken and stored in your local Pictures folder

    - Port type: needto be automatically or manually forwarded the port in your router

  • Do click “save settings” tab in the bottom

Step 2: Click the start button at the bottom of Camera tab

Step 3: Install uMobileCam on Google Play or uMobileCam on the iTunes Store on your mobile device then setup account with the same User ID, Key, and Password as used in your Windows settings

Step 4: Connect your mobile device to your Winodws camera by clicking "Single View" icon on the Monitor of your mobile device

Note

You need to make a note as follows:

  • Your devices are required to be connected to public networks
  • Encrypted string randomly generated by user ID and Key is sent to the server for registration. Additional encrypted Password string is saved only between camera side on your Mac  and monitor side on your mobile devices. We do not save your ID and Key and Password, thus you should make a note of them and keep it in a safe place just in case OR you can set the auto login feature.
  • Simultaneously capturing both video and audio feed on your device may cause increased video frame and audio delays.
  • Push notification to the monitor on your mobile device could be delayed by depending on your network performance.
  • If you get UPnP Error message, make sure that UPnP is enabled in your router. If you are still having problems, you need to manually forward ports in your router by referring to http://portforward.com/guides.htm
